Random thoughts on a surprisingly beautiful Monday...
I always get some of my best ideas while performing a mindless task like, peeling potatoes or scrubbing the sink. Unfortunately, my hands are usually full of gunk and I am far from a pen and paper.
Perhaps I could invent a hands free idea catcher. It could attach to the ear like a blue tooth and ideas and thoughts could be spoken aloud and recorded. The only problem with that idea is that some of my musings should not be spoken aloud!
March truly does come in like a lion each year, at least here in Florida. The last few days were a crazy patchwork of windy, rainy, blustery, hot and cold days. I can put on a turtleneck sweater at 6am and change to a t-shirt by noon, only to put on a long-sleeved t-shirt at 5:00.
I wish I had a skirt or shirt the exact color of the new leaves on my oak tree in my front yard. There is nothing like the colors of Spring. The redbud trees burst out in pinky red blossoms first. Then comes the greening of the trees. This week the azaleas are a riot of pink, red, and white flowers. The dogwood tree spreads out its white blossoms like lace beneath the tall pines. It's a feast for the eyes.
The mornings are becoming lighter and therefore that means one thing- daylight savings time is just around the corner. Just when I rejoice to be getting up with the sunrise and heading out for work in the early sunlight, I'm plunged back into the darkness each morning at 6am. I know many people love that extra hour of light in the evening, and I do as well, but I wish we could allow the Earth to turn on its own. I enjoy noticing the subtle changes in the light and shadows with the dawn of each season.
I love Girl Scout cookies, especially Thin Mints. I could easily consume a whole box within a day.
Thank goodness they only come out once a year.
