Dream Big

I have begun a regime of projects both working and creative to keep myself focused, positive, and creative. Part of my new attitude towards work is to create a different sort of focus.

Today I am thinking of a question that I decided to put to everyone: If you woke up and found you were 21 again, what would you do? Would you go to college? Travel? Sing in a coffee house? Learn an instrument? Go overseas to work as a missionary or for the Peace Corps?

The point of the exercise is not to look back with regret on all that we haven't done, but instead look at what dreams are still attainable. It isn't about age or our commitments, but about rediscovering our dreams. The ones that got laid aside as we began our lives as wives, husbands, moms and dads, or toiling to earn our daily bread.

Take a moment to close your eyes and dream big. I know I am suddenly seized again with an urge to travel. I hate to think that I won't be able to see so many of the beautiful places I long to visit, but what's stopping me (other than lack of funding at this point?)

I plan to use my creative muse to make a travel journal- of places I want to visit and adventures I want to experience.
It may be some time before I can go on a trip, but I vow to enjoy the second half of my life more fully, whether I travel far or just find places to enjoy within my own backyard.
