Small Stones Day 22: Grapefruit

Grapefruit 
smooth, light ball in my hand.
You speak of warm sunshine and tropical skies.


Pale pink flesh,
tart, sweet, and slightly bitter.
The taste of promise and regret,
like your kisses on my lips.
