Oh no! Not another learning experience!

That was the new bumper sticker that my husband had placed on his car the other day. This past weekend was definitely filled with multiple learning experiences.  We don't get to pick and choose our "life lessons." They usually just happen.

Here's what I learned:

I learned many people just go with whatever creates the least amount of friction, rather than make a stand for what is right.

I learned that even a caring, sensitive person, can be insensitive to your feelings.

I learned that I can love my children to a fault, but I cannot fight their battles, nor protect them from every negative, painful experience.

I learned that the time I spent with my nephew growing up made a lasting impression on him.

I learned that even though I am capable of fighting my own battles, it's an incredible feeling to have someone love you so much that they fight fiercely for you, in an effort to shield you from pain.

I learned that I cannot control what people think, I can only continue to live my life in the best way possible.

I learned that love and kindness cast upon the waters, does come back to you.
