Stormy night
the cat's skittish,
and rain lashes against the window panes.
Wind gusts force limbs to bend
and scratch against the roof.
Lights flicker and transformers reboot,
bring out the candles and the lanterns
just in case.
The bed seems like the safest place to be,
as we ride out the storm.
